Guests are always welcome at our meetings, they need not be members of the Friends.
Kevin Maijala, Manager, Curriculum Development and Teacher Education at the Minnesota Historical Society will again be our speaker. In 2010, Kevin talked about the lead-up to the U.S./Dakota War and the role that treaties and the Agency period (1851-1862) played in setting up the war. This year, which marks the sesquicentennial of that war, Kevin will review the reservation period after the treaties, the war from 1862-1865, and discuss the Dakota communities of today.
Advance Reservations for the luncheon are required and must be received no later than April 10, 2012.
